While EA7 administration considers Daniel Hackett’s issue and waits for the Italian federation’s decision, Drake Diener seems pretty close to the club. The 33-year old off-guard probably will be the player who will replace Keith Langford in the “2” spot. Diener is an excellent perimeter shooter who thrives in the transition offense, finding quickly his good spots and executing. His big advantage -for 1.96m-2 guard- is his playmaking abilities as he can run the pick’n roll and take stable minutes as the offense’s main creator.

Diener had a solid season with Sassari, averaging 18.9 pts (50% 3pt!!!) 4.3 rebs and 2.8 dimes, winning the Italian cup in Milano. It is rumored that the player has reach to a two-year agreement with the club.
